Concentration or focused attention is very much respected by society. Parents want to teach children how to concentrate and memorize. And many people complain that they can not remain focused on one subject. Well, this is a misconception. Anger is concentration, hurt is concentration. All suffering is nothing but focused attention. All of us are having good concentration skills. The problem comes when you want to focus on something in which you are NOT interested. For example a student is not interested in maths but he want to focus on maths only to pass the exams.

You are already master in concentration. If you don’t believe me then watch yourself when you are angry. You are so focused in anger that you forget everything. People can not stop smoking or drinking because of strong concentration. All suffering which comes after breakup is nothing but concentrated focus on a single person. If you can not forgive someone for years means you are totally focused on that person. This shows that you can remain focused on something for years.

Mind automatically get focused on the topic in which it is interested. Whether it is good or bad it doesn’t matter. You feel angry or hurt because it gives your ego good feeling. You feel like you are important.

You don’t need to develop the skills of concentration, instead find the area in which you are most interested and you will get easily successful.

The students which are always on the top in school exams may considered as intelligent just because they are on the top. But in latter years other boys, who are having more social skills, confidence, and common sense, who are more focused on money and power may get more successful. This so called intelligence (which is the outcome of concentration) is relative and only time being. The object of concentration will change according to your change in interest.

You will be considered as a genius as long as you are focused on something in which you are interested and easily getting success. But you can be also considered as a fool if people could not understand your genius. The view of society about a successful man is very narrow. Basically it is based on money or social states. Money can easily hide your stupidity.

Meditation is NOT concentration; a meditative person is not focused on anything. He is just present. That’s why concentration on breathing is not meditation. Suppose you are totally focused on breathing and forget everything, then it is not meditation. Every year thousands of people travel all around the world and waste money to learn such kind of stupid things. What they teach in meditation camps is nothing but concentration. Meditation camps are concentration camps because along with stupid techniques they also brainwash you. Meditation can not be taught in camps. You have to learn it yourself in daily activities.

Earning money, balancing relationships, enjoying life, learning new skills, making new friends and achieving goals everything is part of meditation. It is not running away from life. Meditation is very balancing act. A meditative person is not introvert or extrovert. He is just balanced.

A person trying to concentrate can easily get disturbed, because he is fighting, resisting and trying his best to remain focused on ‘one thing’. A meditative person can not be disturbed because he is not forcing himself to remain focused. He is simply present. Forced alertness or awareness is not meditation, it is concentration.

Meditation is to simply being with yourself in the moment. And concentration is to leave yourself and focus on some point in time and space.

If you look at the right sidebar you will see a Spam Counter and it shows that there are more than 31,000 Spam comments which I received in last 2 months. And I have to read them all so that I should not miss a single comment from a sincere reader.

I’m tired.

That’s the only reason I stop writing new posts.

UPDATE: Spam issue is solved.

Anyway, this moment, you are reading this post and THIS is the most precious moment in your life because YOU ARE ALIVE, this moment is the reality and this moment is the truth.

I believe you are AWARE and you are feeling your PRESENCE.

THIS is life.

Everything else is just thought and imagination. Thought is not life. You can never understand life through thinking.

Thinking and imagination is the root of all evil and sorrow. This moment if you are aware and if there is no thought of future or past then you are FREE.

This is what enlightenment is.

You don’t need to go through all meditation and practicing virtue. You just need to come out of your dreamy state. It takes only few seconds.

I’m living it since last 15 years without getting bored or suffering so can you. It is the most easiest thing in life you can do for yourself and it is more valuable than getting a millionaire or becoming world famous.

You can not suffer if you live moment to moment but if you live in ‘time’, if you live in the ‘past or future’, if you live in your ‘personal story’ then there is no way out from endless suffering.

All your wealth, power, success, achievements, love affairs, relationships and marriages are root of your suffering. They may give you momentary happiness and joy but in long run you must know ‘who you really are’, otherwise you will die in ultimate frustration.

And the shortest possible way to freedom is to AWAKE… HERE and NOW!

Nobody can help you and there is no technique! Only you are responsible. You can help your children not by giving them the best education but by helping them to get awaken from this dreamy state of living which is the root of sorrow.

Everlasting happiness is not possible in achieving your dreams but in destroying all dreams!

Realize that you don’t have time, you can not postpone it, tomorrow never comes.

It’s NOW or never!

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose

Now, you are reading this post and noticing words and sentences. At this moment perhaps you are not aware of the white space between the two words till I mention. Actually that white space is bigger than my words but you still missed it.

To notice the white space around the word is awareness.

But you are still missing to notice the breathing, and weight of your body and the sounds that are going around you and many many things.

Awareness is so simple that we don’t notice that it is there. It is not an object itself but it is in the background, silently witnessing everything that is going on. Meditation is nothing but a search for this SILENT WITNESS which is real nature of you. You may call it Samadhi, Satori, Enlightenment, The presence, Nirvana or anything. But it is very simple and available to you this moment.

Remember, it is always in THIS moment only, without any exception. That means you can attain to this silent witness THIS moment, never in the future. All techniques of meditation are designed to bring you into this moment. For example Buddha talks about Vipassana. Vipassana means to pay attention to your breathing. You can not breath in the future or in the past, so as soon as you become alert of your breathing, you are present. It takes only a fraction of second.

Meditation is that easy.

Try this now, close your eyes and just shift your attention from noticing the activity of the thoughts to noticing the silent background in which the thoughts are occurring. As you keep observing this silent background, you will realize that you can be aware of it even while the thoughts are coming and going. Thoughts will take you into the future or past but noticing the Gap between two thoughts will instantly bring you into the Present.

As soon as you are Present almost 95% problems will suddenly disappear, because they are not real. It is just a train of thoughts. You are feeding them with constant thinking. This is what the ego is. Ego means to give continuity to problems which does not exists. Ego is a problem factory. This factory can not run without your support.

This awareness or alertness is ever presence and same in all situations. Experience of this alertness is the ending of all psychological turmoil, fear and sorrow.

If you look into the tension itself then you will see that the tension is nothing but thoughts moving speedily in one direction, and that same thoughts are moving in opposite direction to control the speed of this train of thoughts. The more you try to control this speed, more you get tense.

Meditation means just observation. Just observe this chain and become alert and you are out. Constant movement of thoughts create illusions which you may call fear, phobia, anger, jealously, anxiety, insecurity, lust, frustration etc. All these things are just thoughts.

You should learn to look into these ‘clouds of thoughts’ for ‘white space’.

Once you find this white space then enlightenment is just a matter of decision that I’ll never loose myself in illusions, that’s all.

A seeker asked MG, “ I’m meditating since 6 years, when I’ll become a Buddha?”

MG replied compassionately, “After meditating years after years you will not become a Buddha, you will only come to know that there is not much difference between you and a mosquito”.

Don’t expect that you will become a Buddha in the future. Buddhahood is here and now. Future never comes, there is only present. To live in this moment is to be a Buddha. When you start living in the moment you realize that there is no difference between you and others. This moment you are connected with all humanity, animals, plants and the earth.

Buddha is your real nature, it is your presence. To live in past and future is to live illusions. As long as you are in the present moment you are a Buddha.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~ Buddha

MG replied without looking at him, “Where?”
The man become confused and said, “I mean…in the world…”
MG asked playing with his glass, “In which world?”
“Means..ummm…why people are suffering?”, the man become very uncomfortable.
“..Which people?”, MG continued his cross examination.
“Um, well …what is the reason of my suffering?” finally asked the man with hesitation,
“Oh, really why are you suffering?”, asked MG now looking calmly into his eyes.
Listening to this question the man become speechless and drift into deep silence.
After ten minutes coming back from the silence he replied quietly, “For no reason”
MG quietly finish his glass and light the cigarette as if that man does not exist.

Thoughts are thoughts, whether happy or sad it doesn’t matter. Any moment a happy thought can turn into a sad thought. The more important thing about thoughts is that they are always moving, so you can not hold on to a happy thought. Any person who know even very little or nothing about meditation can understand this. This is very basic.

HIPPY thoughts are better than happy thoughts!

At least Hippy thought or Hippy philosophy is rebellious, it questions authority and rebels against society, tradition and rules. It needs lots of intelligence and energy to think, question and rebel.

Forced happiness is not happiness.

Any moment the thin layer of happy thoughts can vanish and you will see the ugly face which you were trying to hide behind superficial happy thoughts. A thought can never bring you happiness.

As soon as you came face to face with this ugly face which is the fact, meditation begins.

Meditation means to courageously facing and going deep into that ugliness and clean it from the deep layers of your mind. As long as you keep covering this ugliness with superficial happy thoughts you will never get free.

This moment you are surrounded by all kind of stupidity and nonsense, you are getting manipulated by so called blind spiritual leaders and politicians and you are trying to be happy but deep down you know that this happiness is nothing but running away from yourself. This is cowardliness.

You can never become happy unless you clean the the shit which is there from centuries.

Don’t find easy solutions. Happy thoughts and sad thoughts are not different because they are rooted in the SAME MIND. It is your misunderstanding that if you hold happy thoughts you will get free from sad thoughts, no it’s always there and waiting. As soon as you hold to happy thoughts you automatically get bind with sad thoughts.

Happiness and sadness are nothing but two poles of the SAME thought. When you hold the one end you automatically hold the another!

Happiness and sadness go together. Watch this for yourself. You want happiness and never ending pleasure but pleasure and pain goes together. Meditation begins with Detached Alertness of Thinking Process and if you expect happiness then you missed at the very first step.

Meditation is a surgery.

When you open the door of your unconscious mind you don’t know what you are going to face. You may face fear, jealousy, hatred or violence. And if you are avoiding this by projecting positive thinking or happy thoughts then you are running from yourself. And the door of meditation is closed for you.

You can never become happy as long as you are following a guru, a religion or politicians!

The moment you stop following bullshit ideas and concepts of blind people and become courageous to stand alone and start observing the movement of thought you become free.

Hello friends, I’m not talking here about traditional methods of meditation but I want you to understand what I am telling you very carefully. This is actually a ‘free style meditation’. You don’t have to set aside time and practice it regularly for half an hour but you have to APPLY it in every situation and every activity. It is not a method but a ‘no method’. Whenever you remember you just have to ‘be alert’ and ‘come back in the present moment’. Simply become aware of what is going on in and around you. Not just the breathing but also the weight of your body, the sounds that going around you, the temperature, thoughts and feelings etc. When you are in the middle of activity just get alert, be more conscious. That’s all. There is no principle or method or rules. You don’t have to get free from thoughts but as soon as you are ‘alert’ there is no mind. It is quick an immediate. One can notice that right now.

Just stop reading and become aware and you will realize that you were not alert. When you are walking or driving just become alert, when you are eating or smoking just become alert and aware. Feel more, be more sensitive. If you want to respond a situation you have to BE there.

Gurus in the past written thousands of books and confused you, and put all kind of shit in your brain. Now it is time to snap your face and just come back in this moment and YOU ARE OUT. There is no philosophy or technique. It’s really very simple. Just breathe out consciously and you are out. This is a free style meditation. You can do it anytime, anywhere. Open all senses. While listening to someone also watch his face and notice his expressions at the same time also become aware of your verbal or nonverbal reactions and breathing and be conscious of as many things as you can.

While reading this post you can also become aware of the gap between the two words and the design or color of this page and the screen and icons and the monitor and your breathing and the sounds around you and the weight of your body and sensations and feelings and thoughts etc. Remember this is a ‘free style meditation’. This is learning from moment to moment and responding every moment spontaneously.

The highest technique is to have no technique. Do not respond the situation with a set of rules or principles but spontaneously. Be watchful and your commonsense and your alertness will guide you. This is the key to solve any problem.

In street fighting you have to be present and alert and respond quickly. You know? This is a street fighters meditation. You can not learn it from the world teachers and their holy…books (in India there are world teachers in every village, people call them “JagadGuru”, they usually smoke bidi and chew tobacco!) but you can only learn it in the day to day situations. You can detach from any emotion or tension or fear in just a moment, just come back instantly to here and now. Quickly get alert. Be spontaneous and then respond in a very RELAX and ALERT way. The response should be NATURAL and SPONTANEOUS. Getting?

I read thousands of books and studied many masters and their techniques and find most of them very philosophical and theoretical and their methods are not natural and spontaneous and when you practice them for years you only become more idiot and stupid, and in the end there is only frustration. You can keep throwing your past or emotions but it doesn’t work that way. You can be impressed with their excellent philosophy but it is only theory, it doesn’t work on the streets or in the adversity. It is not QUICK. Meditation should help you in every situation otherwise it is just bullshit. You can not throw anger on the pillow in front of a person who bullied you, you can not clinch your teeth and your fist to release your anger. You can not observe your mind and analyze hmmm? You should be able to get relaxed and respond quickly with alertness.

Practice that!

There is no principle and there is no philosophy, only ‘alertness in a relaxed way’ and you will know what to do. And there is no compulsion to remain alert to every moment. You can come back anytime as soon as you remember that you are not alert, ok?

Send comments and let me know what you want so that I can be to the point. I don’t want to waste your time.

Hay guys, One more thing I want you to do. Watch animals, see a cat or a dog, watch them when they are in danger. Watch how quickly they get fully alert and learn from them. Not from the books, not from so called sophisticated and philosophical gurus with their artificial techniques but from the nature and animals, and you will get the knack of meditation. Do not follow the Guru instead watch monkeys! Ok, enjoy learning! You know Cobra style meditation, Monkey style meditation?
Ok, learn from the nature.

Have a nice day.

Do you know Why did Albert Einstein said:

“No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it”?

Simple, because the only way to make all your problems disappear is to transcend them.

How..?

That’s what meditation is all about!

Mind creats the problem but it has no solution. Realize that mind is the problem-making machine. When there is no mind there is no problem. In meditation you do not get the solution to your problem but the problem itself get disapeared.

You can transcend all problems with meditation.

When there is clarity there’s no need even to take a decision. You know what to do and just do it.

Buddha said: life is suffering, but once you realize that life is suffering, you no longer have to suffer.

As a human you will always have problems, this is a fact. But if you understand and accept this fact, you are then free from all problems.

Doesn’t it follow that I don’t exist? No, surely I must exist if it’s me who is convinced of something. But there is a deceiver, supremely powerful and cunning whose aim is to see that I am always deceived. But surely I exist, if I am deceived. Let him deceive me all he can, he will never make it the case that I am nothing while I think that I am something. Thus having fully weighed every consideration, I must finally conclude that the statement “I am, I exist” must be true whenever I state it or mentally consider it.

But what then am I? A thinking thing. And what is that? Something that doubts, understands, affirms, denies, wills, refuses, and also senses and has mental images. - René Descartes
